Strike hits French oil refineries

Worker strikes against labour market reforms are now starting to affect France's oil refineries, with petrol stations around the country quickly running dry. Trade unions are calling for more action. At this point, the government remains determined to push through reforms whose aim is to increase job market flexibility; French unemployment currently runs at 10% compared with an OECD average of 6.4%, and as high as 24.7% among young people in 2015 (compared with an OECD average of 13.9%).
